Part 2: Boracay Memorabilia

Since it was my first time in Boracay, I made sure that I had the best souvenirs it had to offer

Personalized Shirt and Havaianas

Personalized key chains for me and my friends

It's been a great Graduation Trip for me, I wouldn't choose for any other place to celebrate than the sunny/rainy shores of Boracay!

Boracay Activities Review: Zip Line @ Fairways and Bluewaters

This has to be the ultimate of all activities that we've done in Boracay

It wasn't part of our original itinerary but since we've done all those extreme activites that Boracay has in for us, GO LANG NG GO!

The Zipline is located inside the Fairways and Bluewaters Resort. It is 325m long and it starts at the top point of the resort and it ends in the exclusive beachfront of Fairways.

Starting point

Technically, you are strapped in a long string of cables and you hold on to your dear life on those strings. Sounds scary? not really :) more of EXHILARATING!

here is a video of me and my friend going down:

(will try to embed soon!)

so if you're willing to try something not water-related, GO AHEAD and ZipLine your way down!

Boracay Activities Review: Helmet Diving

Don't know how to snorkel or scuba dive? Helmet Diving is for you!

What is helmet diving?

Helmet diving is a form of underwater activity wherein you wear a helmet pumped with oxygen that allows you to breathe normally underwater. The helmet weighs 30-35 kgs
when on land but underwater it weighs only at 2-3kgs.

here are the pictures of the helmets:

Once you get to the place where you will "dive", the divers will give you a short lecture on how to communicate underwater since you won't be hearing each other once immersed

thumbs up sign - go up
thumbs down sign - go down
three/ok sign - ok, no problem
palm facing down, swaying - problem
thumb and index finger touching - equalize
(equalize meaning remove the pressure in your ears which makes you uncomfortable underwater)

once all those are understood, it's time to be immersed!

and the activity includes pictures and videos so just enjoy the activity!

Boracay Activities Review: Fly Fish

This is one of the best activities that we've done in Boracay so far

THE FLY FISH

What's the difference between the fly fish and the banana boat?

first of all, the fly fish is NOT for the weak
SERIOUSLY, it literally FLIES and there are greater chances of you losing grip and falling down the ocean (true story!)

second of all, the fly fish is for smaller groups (3-6 people)

lastly, be prepared to hang for your LIFE

so there if you want to be adventurous and fly and fall into the ocean: try the FLY FISH
if you are in a large group and still want to be adventurous: try the BANANA BOAT

(on the fly fish, on the background banana boat)

Boracay Activities Review: Zorb Ball

Since we were all giddy and excited for our epic weekend, we 1st tried the Zorb Ball

The Zorb Ball activity is divided into two: Harness and Hydro
Harness, meaning you are strapped into the ball and you experience literally the rolling of the ball
Hydro on the other hand, the ball is filled with water and you roll with the ball

we tried the Hydro Zorb and here is how it goes:

(i'll try to embed this video soon!)

YES! you will get WET inside so make sure you are wearing swimwear or something similar

this is how we look like after:

WET but HAPPY

Conclusion:

If you are DARING: go for HARNESS
If you want FUN: go for HYDRO

Part 1: Boracay after thoughts

Just came back from a holiday from the beautiful shores of Boracay last Halloween weekend 2010.

at first, I thought: "Boracay is so OVER-RATED" but then as the days went by, I realized how alive and serene the island is both at the same time.

Enjoying her 1st time in Boracay

yes, it was my first time on the island; so I had very high expectations for it. For one, Boracay is SUPER commercialized on the outside (a.k.a Beachfront); so if you want some peace and quiet go and book a hotel in Station 1.

During our stay, it was both sunny and rainy at the same time (it was raining on the left and the beautiful sunset on the right)

You will enjoy both the sun and rain if you go to Boracay on the months of October-December. This will not spoil your holiday UNLESS there is a typhoon.

Most of all, I enjoyed it with the company of my closest friends

Boracay is not the place to go if you want solitude. Every activity is made for groups and enjoyed with groups (a.k.a water activities, expenses and the experience itself)
